Fairleigh Dickinson College added courses in radiology, medical technology, and clinical laboratory sciences to their nursing program to form the School of Nursing and Allied Health, in January 1996. This became the Fairleigh Dickinson accelerated nursing program.
The Fairleigh Dickinson accelerated nursing program takes in students from all different backgrounds, including nursing. This program allows you to complete your bachelor of science in nursing within one or two years. You can transfer a baccalaureate degree from another field.
This Fairleigh Dickinson accelerated nursing program allows you to enter the profession in a concentrated time frame. You can choose a one year or a two year program. All the courses for one year students, begin in May. Courses for the two year students begin in the fall semester.
When you take the one year program, you will get to your clinical sites faster for the Fairleigh Dickinson accelerated nursing program. You will then graduate faster. Then move on to a paid nursing job.
If you take the two year program, instead, you will have much more time to improve your studies and your GPA before you go to your clinical site. You will also have time to have a part-time job to pay your bills while doing this too. If your part-time job is in a related field, you will also have this as experience when you graduate, to go right into paid nursing.
