Before prospective students will be selected to take part in the Wayne State accelerated nursing program, they must complete a number of prerequisite courses. The prereq courses include:

- Nutrition and Health
- Developmental Psychology
- Sociology
- Cultural Anthropology
All sciences classes must include lab work. All prereq courses must have been completed with a grade of C or better. Students must also have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5 while taking the prereq classes.
