The NURSE Corps Scholarship Program provides students with money for tuition, fees and other costs associated with a nursing education in exchange for working in an eligible Critical Shortage Facility upon graduation. The NURSE Corps Scholarship Program is available to students that have either been accepted or are currently enrolled in a diploma, associate, baccalaureate or graduate nursing program.
Eligibility for the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program
In addition to the academic requirements, students must be U.S. citizens, nationals or lawful permanent residents of the U.S. in order to be eligible for the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program. The nursing program students are accepted or enrolled in must be accredited and located in the United States. Students must also begin classes no later than September 30th.
Meanwhile, students can only be eligible for the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program if they are free from any Federal judgment liens, free from existing service commitments, and not delinquent on any Federal debts.
Benefits of the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program
Funds will be awarded through the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program once students have agreed to a minimum two-year service commitment at an HPSA shortage facility. As part of this exchange, students can receive up to a $1,302.00 monthly stipend through the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program. Students can also receive money for books, supplies, instruments, and uniforms.
Critical shortage facilities you may work in through the NURSE Corps Scholarship Program include federal, Native American and public health clinics, hospitals, inpatient nursing facilities, outpatient facilities, and services providers.
