The Vanderbilt accelerated nursing program offered at the Vanderbilt School of Nursing is unlike many other popular accelerated programs in the United States. Students can apply for the Vanderbilt accelerated nursing program even if they have absolutely no background in nursing.

As per the school, the Vanderbilt accelerated nursing program takes three semesters to complete. Once the Vanderbilt accelerated nursing program has been completed, students will then enroll in another program to complete their MSN degree. Overview of the Vanderbilt Accelerated Nursing Program

There are several prerequisite courses you must complete or be in the process of completing before you can be considered for the Vanderbilt accelerated nursing program. The courses include:

  • Lifespan Development
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology I
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology II
  • Statistics
  • Nutrition

Vanderbilt also requires prospective students to complete a minimum of 700 clinical hours. These hours can be completed at hospital inpatient units, children’s hospitals, community agencies, psychiatric hospitals or other mental health centers.
