William Jewell Accelerated Nursing Program

The William Jewell accelerated nursing program is for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree but would also like to pursue a career in nursing. Approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing, there are both 12-month and 16-month William Jewell accelerated nursing programs available.

Overview of the William Jewell Accelerated Nursing Program

All students must complete a number of prerequisite courses before they will be able to gain acceptance into the William Jewell accelerated nursing program. These courses include the following:

  • Basic Psychology
  • Pathophysiology
  • Nutrition
  • Microbiology with Lab
  • Chemistry with Lab
  • Anatomy with Lab
  • Physiology with Lab

All students must have completed the prereq courses for the William Jewell accelerated nursing program with a C grade or better. Students must have also maintained a minimum grade point average of 2.7 while taking the classes.

Students interested in the William Jewell accelerated nursing program must also submit several documents, including a completed application, official transcripts, two letters of recommendation and an Involvement resume’. Students must also complete the TEAS exam as administered by the Department of Nursing.
